Bonnaroo may be this holiday weekend, for all intents and purposes kicking off summer festival series. But for Sanrio fans, the only festivity that matters is the Hello Kitty iPad Supercute Friendship Festival, taking place this holiday weekend at Los Angeles’s recently repaired Fabulous Forum before moving on to a new supercute city near you, as How are you ? Kitty and her fluffy near friends embark on their first-ever live Us tour.

The family-friendly festivity isn’t exactly edgy or indie-rock, and attendees are more likely to wear gigantic red bows than flower capped teeth. But the music selected for the another onstage vignettes, by producer User Pileggi, is surprisingly cool — including tracks by Daft A-hole, Junior Senior, the Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, DJ Cassidy, Nena, Mr. bieber Timberlake, Don Ho, and even some forgotten gem off the Grease not one but two soundtrack.
There are even two original records written exclusively for the Hello Feline Supercute Friendship Festival: “Small Gift item, Big Smile, ” by Amy Powers and Matt Tishler, and therefore “Share a Smile Rock the World, ” by Gabriel Mann and Jeannie Lurie. It’s all so seriously Kittyrific!
And the Supercute fashions, naturally , totally trump “Coachella style, ” hands (or paws) down:
